The name of the album was inspired by an encounter with David Helfgott (academy award winning movie Shine was about him). I supported him at a gig years ago and when introduced David asked, "What sort of music do you play?', I replied, "I play Blues" to which David said, "I prefer Reds to Blues, don't you?" It made me remember that red was my favourite colour as a kid, and my sound certainly has reds to it...
Special thanks to Krishaan Wright for the beats on tour, thank you to Sean Costello for keyboards and harmonica on "The River", to Greg Jowett and Steve Arkle for the photos, and to our families and loved ones, for their unwavering support. To the loving memory of Colleen Nunan.
